Benefits of Super-foods & 9 Foods to Start Eating
By Virginia Laird
With the many fad diets available today, it is more important than ever to stay educated on the best foods to eat. A lot of being healthy has to do with what and how much is eaten at a time. Learning how to make healthier choices can improve a person's health immensely. There are a plethora of super foods on the market, a few of them should be included in everyone's diet on a daily basis. Including these foods do not automatically change one's health instantly. But changing the diet (even so slightly) can have a great impact on the quality of life overall. A few foods to include in your healthy diet are:
Apples - Apples are full of antioxidants and have been linked to reducing your chances of developing lung cancer. They also help keep your bowels regular.
Bran flakes - If you are looking to lose weight, these are said to help get rid of belly fat as well as reduce inflammation. These are also filled with fiber that can help to regulate bowels.
Cauliflower - This is loaded with nutrients that are said to help keep cancer away.
Eggs - Eggs have long been linked to weight loss. They are high in proteins and low in calories. Including one egg a day, generally at breakfast, can help to keep the meal low calorie and assist in a plan to slim down.
Salmon - Salmon is a lean protein. This food is full of omega 3s and helps maintain a healthy heart.
Spinach - Spinach is loaded with Vitamin K. This help build strong bones and assists with blood clotting.
Steel cut oats - Steel cut oats take longer to digest, helping you feel feel fuller for longer.
Strawberries - These are said to help deter the growth of both colon and cervical cancers.
Walnuts - Walnuts have alpha-linolenic acid and are said to help improve coordination as well as memory.
Eating healthy does not have to be boring. The list of superfoods that can help to improve health is much longer. Other super foods can be found on this list. Before feeling the pressure to begin a strict diet, consider adding some of these foods to your diet. Keep in mind: It takes time to see the benefits of change. Stay the path.
Good luck on your path to a healthier diet and lifestyle!
