Tips To Make Your Mornings Easier
By Stepy Kamei
While there are a few people out there who seem to have no problem springing out of bed at the crack of dawn, many of us just don't have the ability to naturally rise and shine. For people who don't need to wake up early in the morning, this isn't much of an issue. For the rest of us, early mornings simply can't be avoided, whether it's due to commitments related to family or obligations for work. Fortunately, there are ways to make it easier to wake up and be productive in the morning. It's mostly about implementing a few positive and healthy habits and plans into your everyday routine in order to feel energized and awake in the early hours.
Create Solid Plans and Goals For Yourself
For many of us, one of the reasons it can be so difficult to get up early, especially on weekends or days off, is because we may not have many tasks to complete which need our immediate attention. If you think this may be what's contributing to your reluctance to rise and shine, then you may want to consider how to add structure to your mornings. Maybe you've always wanted to take up walking as exercise, yet can't fit it into your evenings. Move it to the morning! Or maybe there's a creative side project you've always wanted to work on, such as writing, painting, or playing music. Use something like this to jump start your mornings in a positive manner.
Hydrate First Thing
I always keep a glass of water on my nightstand, and one of the first things I do when I wake up is drink it. Starting your day by hydrating your body is a great way to start off on a healthy note, and it naturally wakes your body up without the jitters that can be brought on by caffeine.
Stick to a Reliable Routine, Day and Night
You may notice that the common theme here is sticking to certain habits in order to form a stable routine. We tend to do better when we have some semblance of structure plotting our days and nights, so keep this in mind while planning out your week. It's helpful to go to sleep and wake up at the same time regardless of your work schedule, so your body is accustomed to the routine.
