If You Are A Slow Starter, More Sunshine May Help
By Tom Herrin
A lot of people are kind of draggy in the mornings. There could be several reasons for it. Staying up too late is one of the big ones. Some other reasons could be noises and distractions. Quite a few people just can’t seem to get themselves out of bed and motivated. Some of this may be the result of an environment people have created for themselves that could be depriving them of something that could be critical to their overall health. Whether or not there are good reasons for that, there may be some good solutions. In some cases, an increase in the amount of sunshine people receive can help them to feel more energetic and able to be productive.
It Can Work Like A Switch
The dark helps people sleep in more ways than one. It can help increase the amount of melatonin, which is what tells people it is time to sleep. Light disrupts that. Sunlight can help people to internalize the fact that it is time to get up. It is not just the light alone but sunlight is believed to turn off the body’s production of melatonin. It is considered far more effective than devices that may be used to wake people up. Rather than the sudden blare of some audio device, the sunshine may appear as a much softer but more sure means of awakening.
It Can Make Your Mood Brighter
It is thought that sunshine can increase the level of serotonin, which is the hormone produced by the body that makes people feel good. It puts them in a happy mood. The classic walk in the park, or ride on a bicycle, in the sunshine can make people feel good in general. The increase in serotonin can make people more productive and, sometimes, more outgoing. Increased levels of serotonin can improve relationships and create happier workplaces.
It May Improve The Heart
UV rays cause plenty of concern today. People are encouraged to take precautions when they have any excessive exposure. Under the right circumstance, UV rays can release nitric oxide. This has shown to lower blood pressure, thus reducing the risks of heart attacks and strokes. This can be supplemented by the increased levels of Vitamin D, which is another contributing factor for improving heart health. If you are one of those individuals who drags in the morning and looks for little ways to make improvements in your health, try adding a little more sunshine.
