5 Exercises that Work Better than You Think

Many of the exercises that can do the most good for the body may seem elementary. Don’t be too quick to turn your back on exercises that are simple, not every one that is great for the body will be complex. A few of the exercises that can tone better than people expect include:

  • Burpees
  • Wall sits
  • Planks
  • Crab walks
  • Supermans

Burpees

Without using proper burpee form, a burpee can be more harmful than good. However, when performed correctly, the burpee can benefit every muscle area in the body. This exercise is one of the best for burning fat.

Wall Sit

Wall sits were my high school coach’s favorite form of torture. At the time, I am not sure that any of us appreciated the pain and simplicity of this exercise. Walls sits are great for toning the upper legs, which seems to be the one place most people find difficult to maintain as they age.

Plank

Planks are great for toning every section of the ab muscles. When done using correct form, the plank can help strengthen the back and promote healthy posture. While some will deem this exercise too simple to do good, it is the simplicity of this exercise that allows the most toning to take place.

Crab Walk

A person may find themselves laughing at the thought of an adult participating in the crab walk, but there are a great many benefits for the body in this exercise. Although simple, this exercise can be difficult for adults, making this workout even better for the triceps.

Superman

It is important for those wanting great looking abs, to work out the back muscles as well. A great, yet easy, exercise for this is the Superman. For those who may not be familiar with a Superman, the correct form can be found here. Using this technique, there is no added weight to stress the back muscles, making it one of the very best. 

The great thing about all of these exercises is that each can be accomplished in the comfort of a person’s home. This can help to eliminate any excuse that may be lingering, preventing one from heading to the gym. If you want to begin toning, set aside just five minutes per day and choose just one or two of these exercises. Before you know it, you will be ready to knock out all five and have a leaner, slimmer core. Good luck!
