The Joint Sponsoring Inaugural Pickleball Tournament
The Joint Chiropractic in Chapel Hill is sponsoring the inaugural Chapel Hill Pickleball Tournament in October.
Played with a paddle and combining elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, pickleball has been described as the fastest growing sport in the nation. Although it can be played as singles, the tournament is for doubles, and an average game lasts about 15 minutes.
If you are like The Joint Chapel Hill's Dr. Steve Maniscalco and have never played pickleball, this is a great beginner tournament to start! It's a round robin tournament so each participant will play at least four games, with prizes for first-, second- and third-place finishers.
"The Joint Chiropractic Chapel Hill is proud to support local foundations and charities," Dr. Maniscalco said.
Sports such as pickleball are a great way to provide adults and children with a fun way to exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle. Another important aspect of a healthy lifestyle is chiropractic care. Although healthy and beneficial, activities like pickleball can take a toll on a person's body. That's why chiropractic is such a good fit for active families, because it can provide benefits for the preparation of the activity as well as benefits after, such as alleviating pain or stiffness.
The Joint Chiropractic Chapel Hill is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The tournament runs Oct. 13-15 at Ephesus Park; click here to register. More information can be found at Chapel Hill Pickleball.
The park is located at 1939 Ephesus Church Road in Chapel Hill.
