The Joint Does its Small Hands Big Hearts Java Jive
Contributing to the community is important to The Joint Chiropractic-Morrisville, which is why it sponsored the third annual Small Hands Big Hearts Java Jive Jog 10K and 5K.
The event raised money for Small Hands Big Hearts United (SHBHU), helping it to remain an accessible year-round resource for youth. The organization's mission is to nurture children's instinctive compassion for others and the world around them.
"5Ks and other races are a great way to provide children with a fun way to exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle," said Dr. Todd Wegerski of The Joint in Morrisville. "Another important aspect of a person's health is chiropractic care. There are many benefits to treating children and adults with chiropractic care, and chiropractors can do more than just help alleviate pain from race day."
To learn more about the far-reaching benefits chiropractic care, contact the The Joint-Morrisville during business hours Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
The Joint's involvement with the running event helps SHBHU create additional community volunteer opportunities and support programs, called "compassion missions," that are sparked by the minds of Small Handers and Ambassador Teens throughout the Triangle.
SHBHU has a mission to help nurture the next kind, compassionate and philanthropic generation leading the world. An example of a volunteer opportunity is "hearts to smiles," in which volunteers partner with the Ronald McDonald House's "Buddy Program" for children with special needs, seniors and U.S. soldiers.
