The Joint a Proud Supporter of Cary Cornhole Classic

The Joint Chiropractic Cary was a proud sponsor of last month's Cary Cornhole Classic at Waverly Place. The Cary Cornhole Classic benefits the Team Drea Foundation, which has raised more than $200,000 for research for ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. The foundation was created by Andrea Peet, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2015. 

Undeterred, since her diagnosis Andrea has completed more than 20 marathons, half-marathons and triathlons. 

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. There is not yet a cure for ALS. The Team Drea Foundation's mission is to fund and support bold, innovative research to find a cure or effective treatment for ALS. The Cary Cornhole Classic raised $7,200.

Dr. Mark Workman of The Joint Chiropractic-Cary said, "We had a great time at the Cary Cornhole Classic and it was inspiring to see Andrea and her team work together to put on such a positive event. We are already looking forward to next year." 

The tournament was held on Oct. 29.
