Brier Creek Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Joint Chiropractic - Brier Creek hopes you can make it to the Clocktower Plaza at Brier Creek Commons on Dec. 1.
The Joint will celebrate the holidays as part of Brier Creek's annual tree lighting ceremony and party on Friday, Dec. 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
People of all ages are welcome to come out and participate in the tree lighting ceremony. Children will be excited to see Santa light the tree. After the lighting ceremony, there will be horse-drawn carriage rides, a trackless train, and face painting for children of all ages. Families can also interact with local businesses, including The Joint, your stop for chiropractic needs. Be sure to stop by and learn ways that chiropractic can help beyond just back or neck pain.
Did you know that travel during the holidays can cause a condition called "suitcase spine?" It is caused by lifting heavy suitcases and then sitting for long periods of time. Dr. Todd Wegerski of the Joint Chiropractic explains that the lifting followed by prolonged sitting can cause a disc to flatten down onto the nerves and blood vessels.
Another common cause of pain is when people sit with their wallets or cell phones in their back pocket. This will shift the pelvis and can cause pain. Dr. Wegerski recommends removing the wallet from the back pocket before sitting, especially during long travel periods.
The Joint at Brier Creek is located in between Mixx Ice Cream and Tamarind Oriental Express.
