Location, Location, Location May Help Fight Aging
By Tom Herrin
There is that big saying in real estate that location is just about everything. It can be a benefit in managing health as well. It is not that it is magic but simply providing more opportunity to do things that can improve health. One of the great things about living in the south as opposed to much colder parts of the country is that it is much more inviting to be able to get out and do more things year round. When it comes to aging, many people experience earlier aging due to that fact that they eat poorly and don’t get enough exercise.
Numbers Games Can Jump On Your Back
As people get a little older, even past their twenties or thirties, they may see blood pressure and blood sugar begin to rise. The heart moves less blood throughout the body as it works. Muscles tend to decline while fat increases. Waistlines may expand. The nervous system slows in reaction time. Cholesterol numbers seem to take a turn for the worse. Good rest is often harder to come by.
Some Aging Can Be Reversed
The really good news about aging is that it is possible to slow, or even reverse, many of the signs associated with it. Studies have shown that people who have spent years in sedentary lifestyles can make changes in their activity that can improve cholesterol, lower blood sugar and blood pressure. Apparently life is not so predetermined as many may think. It is unfortunate that so many seem to feel that they simply must live with the hand they are dealt in life. The truth may be far from that.
Get Moving And Eat Better
Much more of your real quality, and possibly length, of life can be in your hands if you will take the initiative to get up and get going. A routine of exercise does not have to be extremely intense, it just needs to be regular. When you challenge yourself to test your abilities, you may amaze yourself. The results can provide motivation and a greater feeling of control. If you are really interested in possibly influencing your length of life, move to a low fat diet. Studies have shown that low fat diets are the one kind of diet that can actually make a difference in longevity. They can help improve genetic material that truly may add years.
