The Joint Cary a Proud Sponsor of Pickleball Tourney
The Joint Chiropractic Cary was proud of its sponsorship role for the Cary Pickleball Doubles Tournament in early May at the Bond Park Community Center. The tournament, for adults 40 and older, featured Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Pickleball has been described as the "fastest growing sport in the nation." Pickleball is a fun paddle sport that combines elements from tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It can be played as singles or doubles and can be played inside or outside. Did you know that pickleball was a game made up by Congressman Joel Pritchard and two friends? Pickleball was named after Pritchard's dog, Pickles!
If you are like The Joint Cary's Dr. Wegerski and have never played Pickleball, this is a great beginner tournament to start! There are awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
According to The Joint's Dr. Wegerski, sports such as pickleball are a great way to provide the whole family with a fun way to exercise and promote a healthy lifestyle. Another important aspect of a healthy lifestyle is chiropractic care. Activities like pickleball can take a toll on a person's body. Pickleball involves similar movements like tennis, therefore players are at risk for developing injuries like tennis elbow. Tennis elbow is medically known as lateral elbow tendinopathy. Chiropractic care can help treat and prevent injuries like this. Chiropractic care can also help remove back and knee pain, and also provide overall health benefits.
The Joint Chiropractic Cary is proud to support local foundations and charities! The Joint Chiropractic Cary is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
