If It Feels Good, Wear It

By Tom Herrin

The way people approach health has changed over the years as they learn more about how technology can improve what they do and how it works.  Many years ago, the standard pre-game meal for athletes about to play a football game was a big steak, potatoes, and whatever sounded like was needed to finish off the meal.  In recent years, most of those meals consist of something much lighter that is more easily digestible. The same kind of things may be said about clothes. Modern technology has developed much-improved clothing for the purpose of workout apparel.  Compression clothing has become quite popular for exercise as well as casual wear.

The Socks Are Proven

For many years, people have been given compression socks to wear after surgery or some other similar procedure.  When people are somewhat confined to quarters so that they are not able to get out and have regular movement or exercise, there is a risk of blood remaining in areas of the body that are distant from the heart.  Blood clots may occur. The socks can maintain pressure on the walls of the blood vessels so that the blood will return to the heart in the process of good circulation.

The Shorts Are Everywhere

Many people now wear compression shorts or pants when they exercise.  They provide reasonably good support and may help prevent fatigue. They seem to be the apparel of choice for a lot of those who ride bicycles as well.  These days, people wear the shorts just about everywhere. They are comfortable and easy to move around in. The only caution with them would be that they cannot replace exercising and eating right.  Bulges still show, and they may look worse when stuffed into an undersized pair of snug shorts.

The Tops May Make You Feel Like a Star

Compression shirts come in a variety of sizes and shapes.  Some people prefer to wear them during a workout for a feeling of support while others choose to wear them after a workout to help reduce swelling.  I enjoy them because they feel really comfortable. When you get to the point where you have made some progress with your workouts and your body gets more of a ripped look, you may end up looking a bit like a superhero.  They all wear fitted shirts. All you will need to add is a good mask.
