Easy Ways to Burn Fat Fast to Lose Weight

By Sandy Schroeder

Burning fat fast to speed up metabolism and lose belly fat can seem impossible at times, but there are ways to make it happen.

DumbLittleMan.com came up with some effective tips that can be incorporated into daily routines. Check them out and see how they can work for you.

Put High Protein on the Menu

Feel full and eat less with a diet that’s rich in protein. As your metabolism goes up you will burn more fat. Choose dairy, eggs, fish, beans, and lean meats. Enjoy omelets, fish tacos, black bean soup or lean beef stew.

Roll Stress Way Back

When stress strikes, the body releases cortisol, a stress hormone that can cause the body to store more fat and increase the appetite. Try yoga, meditation, or deep breathing to let go of the stress. Figure out what is stressing you and do an end run with your favorite music, or weekend getaways.

Boost Metabolism with Green Tea

Drinking green tea three times a day could boost your metabolism by 4 percent and burn 60 calories.

Put Fiber to Work

Foods full of fiber like beans or cabbage can reduce the amount of calories that the body absorbs. They also keep you feeling full longer. Pick your favorites and serve them often. Navy bean soup, raspberry tarts, apple pie, and baked potatoes are all good choices.

  • Raspberries have 8 grams of fiber per cup
  • Navy beans, 19 grams per cup.
  • Apples, 3 to 4 grams per apple
  • Potatoes, 3 grams per cup
  • Dark vegetables like artichokes, 10 grams per cup

Limit Alcohol Consumption

Your favorite wines or cocktails are brimming with calories. They also depress the nervous system to slow down metabolism and prompt the body to store more fat. Drink more water instead to speed up metabolism.

Balance Your Carbs

Cut back on refined carbs such as pasta, white rice, crackers and bread and increase whole grains, legumes and vegetable-based breads or crusts.

Reduce the Sugar in Your Diet

Nutritionists tell us American adults eat about 3 pounds of sugar per week. That adds up to 152 pounds of sugar a year! Sugary foods are often packed with fats that trigger cravings. Replace honey, sugar or jam with unsweetened frozen fruit or raw sweeteners. Also check labels for hidden sugar in ketchup and pasta sauces.

Always Eat Breakfast

Metabolism slows down during sleep and a healthy breakfast can jump start it.  Try a high fiber bowl of oats with skim milk and fruit to keep your morning running strong.
