Feeling Sick? 3 Tips for Feeling Better
By Genevieve Cunningham
One of the worst feelings is whenever we get sick. Our head is pounding. Our chest hurts. Our throat is scratchy, and our eyes are red and watery. If you've ever been sick, then you are already familiar with this feeling. Unfortunately, there's very little that we can do to completely avoid getting sick in our lives. It's just a part of life. But if you find yourself sick, there may be things that you can do to feel better faster. If you're feeling under the weather, take a look at these three tips for feeling better as soon as today.
Get More Rest
Rest is under appreciated. We often go without enough rest, and then we wonder why we're so tired and rundown all the time. But if you're feeling sick, then you definitely need to make time for more rest. It's when the body's resting that it is able to heal. Get in the bed, cover yourself with a blanket, and don't get up until your health has started to make a turn for the better.
Avoid Other Sick People
When you are sick, your immune system is already suffering. It's working hard to get you well again. But while it's in this state, it's also more susceptible to catching other illnesses. If you're anxious to get better faster, then do your best to avoid sick people whenever you're already feeling down. Most of the time, this is easy to do. All you have to do is stay home. But if you aren't able to stay home, then make sure you are constantly covering your mouth and nose, washing your hands often, and leaving the room if anyone is complaining of coming illness.
Eat and Drink Like a Champ
If you want to feel better, then you have to fuel your body for healing. This might include getting plenty of fluids, especially in the form of a clear soda or an electrolyte containing drink. Good foods might include chicken soups, bone broths, or light crackers. It's imperative that you get your nutritional needs met so that your body can fight off the infection and get you feeling better in less time.
We are all going to experience illness in our lives. It's impossible to avoid every germ. But when we are feeling down, we all want to get better as fast as possible. We want to feel healthy and strong and get back to work and play. Use these tips to help beat your illness faster, and enjoy the quick turnaround that makes you feel like yourself again.
