3 Tips for Bringing Back Your Energy
By Genevieve Cunningham
Energy. When you first hear this word, you may think of gas and oil and solar panels -- all of the things in our world that bring us energy. Or maybe you're among those who think about grabbing a drink full of caffeine to get you through the day. Or maybe you're among the vast majority of people who just want more. More energy. More motivation. More wakefulness. Lacking energy certainly isn't a new concept. It seems like we're all a little low on energy these days, and what's worse, it's so hard to find more -- and especially hard to keep it. If you're feeling tired and rundown, take a look at these three tips for bringing energy back into your life for good.
Focus on Good Sleep
Don't just focus on sleep -- focus on getting good sleep. The kind that allows you to sink into that deep sleep state and really relax. In order to get this kind of sleep, you'll need to set up a good routine and stick with it. You may need to eliminate distractions from the bedroom. You may need to stop with the afternoon caffeine. Do whatever it takes to improve your quality of sleep and you may find that your natural energy returns.
Eliminate Junk Food
Everyone eats a little junk now and again. But if you eat junk all day every day, you're not allowing your body to soak up the proper nutrition that it needs to thrive. Try to cut out some of the junk and replace it with healthy proteins or vegetables. Will it take some time? Yes. Will it take some self-discipline? Absolutely. But over time it will get easier, and the extra energy will certainly make it worth it.
Drink More Water
Dehydration is an energy zapper. If you're not drinking water all day, you need to start pronto. Water helps both the brain and body function at their best. Some of the signs of dehydration include dry skin, headaches, and fatigue. If you're always tired and you're not getting proper amounts of water, start with this one step and see what happens.
It can be hard to get your energy back once it's been lost. It's a debt that feels like it will never be paid! But these tips can help! With some patience and the right approach, you can gain some energy and feel like yourself again in no time at all.
