Meet The Doctors
Dr. John McDonald D.C., was born and raised in Roscoe, Illinois. He did his undergraduate studies at Rock Valley College and University of Iowa. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated in 1985 with his Chiropractic degree as well as a degree in sports Chiropractic.
Upon receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. John McDonald, started practicing family chiropractic in Rockton, Illinois for his Brother-in- law. He then went on to open his own practice in Loves Park, Illinois 1 year later. Dr. McDonald moved to Arizona in 2011 and began practicing Chiropractic in Chandler. In 2015 he started working for The Joint in Scottsdale and then later in Queen Creek. One thing he learned is to serve all types of people and cases, including migraine relief, sciatica pain, neck pain, and lower back pain through the use of manual manipulation. He has been involved in family chiropractic for more than 30 years. He later opened his own Joint in July of 2018 in Casa Grande.
Dr. McDonald says the best thing about being a chiropractor is being able to help others with relief and wellness.
Dr. McDonald lives in Chandler with his fiancé Erin and her son Dylan. He has a daughter Demi and grandson Brooks who live in Alabama. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, golf, pickle ball and spending time with his family at home.
In Case You Didn’t Know
The one thing in Dr. McDonald’s refrigerator that he can’t do without is blueberries for his breakfast. He also has a basenji chihuahua named Callie.
Dr. Valerie was born in the Finger Lakes region of NY, and raised in Gibraltar, Michigan. She enlisted in the United States Air Force when she was 17 y/o. She spent 12 years in the military in the medical field, specifically as an Independent Duty Medical Technician. They are the people dropped in the middle of nowhere and they do everything medically related-doctor, dentist, veterinarian etc.... Dr. Valerie was honorably discharged in between desert wars and pursued her desire to take her knowledge and expand it. While in the military she graduated from several colleges/universities and finally went to Cleveland Chiropractic College (now university), in Kansas City, KS.
At Cleveland Chiropractic College she passed her physiotherapy boards, acupuncture boards, and received her Advance proficiency rating for the Activator instrument which she still renews every year. Her Doctorate in Chiropractic and experience in the military and around the world allows her to draw on several different styles and teachings in the healing process for her patients.
Dr. Valerie knows how connected the body is physically, mentally and emotionally. She scans the whole body for problems, not just the complaint area. Everyday she gets to see miracles and has the expertise to direct people to the best place for them to get help. The whole body is involved because the base for the body, the neuromuscular skeletal system, is responsible for everything that goes on. Keeping it in the best shape possible for the individual, lets that individual participate in their life as fully as they can.
Dr. Valerie and her husband Marty moved to Tucson to be closer to her mother Ethel. They have both since passed away. She continues to live in Tucson with the fur babies. She loves books, rocks, puzzles, and science..
