Born in Albany, New York, Dr. I-Keyanna Hamlin comes from a blended family. With one brother and two sisters and two half sisters, she was raised in a bustling and loving environment. When her parents relocated to the south, she followed.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rust College, an HBCU (Historically Black College & University) in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Her original plan was to become a medical doctor, but when a representative from Life University came to speak to her Life Leadership program at the college, she was singled out. The representative said, “You! You’d make a great chiropractor!” At this point in time, Hamlin knew of chiropractic care, but she did not know anything about it.

“The philosophy at Life University is Vitalism - the power that made the body can heal the body and that all natural measures should be taken to heal the body as much as possible,” Hamlin stated. And Hamlin says she became passionate about that philosophy. She decided to attend Life University and began getting adjusted herself. Later she would ask herself why she had not been getting adjusted her entire life. “The fact that I was picked out, singled out of this entire crowd felt like a God thing to me,” she explained.

And after graduating from LIfe University, she began working as a chiropractor for a private practice in Picayune, Mississippi in 2018. She loved it, but the work schedule was grueling, and when an opportunity came to move to Dallas, Texas, she took it. That is where she began working for The Joint. She liked the clinic’s business model. She liked that she worked on many different people and felt that her hands continued to grow in skill.

With her parents now living in Atlanta, she decided to move closer. She had visited the Chattanooga area many times and had fallen in love with the natural beauty, the scenery, rivers, lakes and mountains, and it was only a 2 hour drive from her family. Dr. Hamlin moved to Chattanooga in September and began working for The Joint clinics in the area. She enjoys her job and the flexibility of her schedule as it gives her more free time to enjoy the area in which she now lives.

Dr. Taylor Lee Sparks, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Hamilton

Dr. Taylor has joined our team in the Greater Chattanooga Locations. She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2020 and began her career in Savannah, Georgia. Her previous experience with the Joint Chiropractic in Savannah makes Dr. Taylor one of our expert Doctors of Chiropractic and we are excited to welcome her aboard.

Her passion to help patients feel better fast after injury started when she began her studies as an Athletic Trainer and PrN. She is RockTape and RockBlade Certified. Dr. Taylor stated, “I wanted to be in a clinic that was accessible to all people, affordable, and completely centered around patient care. I believe chiropractic care should be easily accessible to everyone who needs it, and The Joint makes that a lot easier.”

Dr. Taylor is new to the Tennessee area. She is originally from Corning, NY. In her free time, she enjoys time in the kitchen cooking and baking. She also spends as much time as possible in the mountains and for down time, she likes to read thriller novels and mysteries.

“I wanted to work in the healthcare industry where I could help people every day without relying on the use of medication. Seeing individuals struggle everyday with pain and knowing I can help change their lives is truly what got me into this profession.” Dr. Taylor explained. Her passion for her patients really comes from the heart.

Dr. Tom Donnelly, D.C. is a Chiropractor at Hamilton

Dr. Donnelly, formerly of Flint, Michigan, has been living in Southeast Tennessee for 12 years and has been working for The Joint Chiropractic since last summer.

“We wanted to live in an area that offered outdoor activities and sports, and Chattanooga won our hearts immediately,” Donnelly said regarding his move and their choice.

A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, Donnelly’s initial career pursuit was law.

Donnelly stated, “My father was a successful service station owner, and I naturally planned to follow in his footsteps, but I suddenly found myself being pulled in a different direction. I had a higher calling into chiropractic care in order to serve others in my community.”

He will primarily head up the fifth clinic scheduled to open later this month next to Mean Mug and McCallister’s on Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

The Joint Chiropractic opened its first clinic in Hixson in November 2019. There are also three other clinics in Cleveland, NorthShore and on Gunbarrel at Hamilton. A sixth clinic is slated to open in Dalton, Georgia in early 2023.

Headquartered out of Scottsdale, Arizona, The Joint has over 600 clinics nationwide.
