Keeping Your Body In Perfect Tune Keeps the Fun Coming
Our bodies are a little like the music we love. When our favorite group plays a song perfectly, it’s heaven, but if someone else plays it, and misses a note, we notice it instantly.
Chiropractors remind us that our bodies need to strive for the same perfection. Our bodies have 24 independent vertebrae that allow us to move, twist and bend through every motion that we make all day long. When it all works it is a lot more fun.
From the busy breakfast scene where we all scatter to schools and jobs, right on through to the final quiet time when everybody settles down for the night, our bodies have to be on duty, carrying whatever loads come up.
At the same time we also need a command central system that is housed in our spinal column, where sensitive nerve tissue carries every communication between our brain and our body. When slight mishaps occur, pain discomfort and loss of mobility quickly let us know something is wrong. These signals can turn up quickly with elbow, neck, shoulder or back pain that demands relief. The chiropractor says this pain can come from a partial dislocation, which means two or more vertebrae are not working properly. If this interferes with the nervous system’s work the body uses pain to sound the alarm.
Chiropractic care can help us solve the problem
The American Chiropractic Association cited 2015 comments from Spine, support that said manual-thrust manipulation delivered better short term results to reduce disability and pain, than medical care. 94 % of the manual-thrust manipulation patients polled achieved greater than 30% reduction in pain compared with 69% of those using regular medical care.
Visiting the Chiropractor
If you like the idea of keeping your body in tune, consider making your chiropractor your ongoing service center. Along with your doctor, the three of you can make wellness the norm, skipping any painful slowdowns.
I have several friends who have seen chiropractors for years, for major pain and minor twinges. Overall the process has worked to keep them healthy and happy, moving along with their careers, and later stepping into active retirements full of travel, sports, hobbies and grandchildren.
When you visit the chiropractor, the initial visit will include a spinal adjustment to detect any dislocations, and to evaluate overall spinal health. There will also be a complete medical history review and discussion of daily activities. From there, the goal will be to facilitate normal routines without the use of medications or surgery.
Many times as regular visits evolve, the chiropractor will have suggestions on healthier diets to lose weight and gain energy, relaxation and stretching exercises to keep the body moving better, and new classes to reduce stress and tone the body. The chiropractor will be monitoring the body to keep everything rolling, avoiding dislocations, pain or loss of mobility.
If this sounds like a wellness plan you could use, call for an appointment now.
